Resistance/Strength Training
As in all training styles, proper form is essential. Strength training should result in a strong, healthy, toned body. While you build and maintain muscle, you will also strengthen your bones/joints and experience an overall energy increase, adding to a more effective lifestyle. Resistance training requires discipline, commitment and consistency. You’ll want to make sure you are getting the most out of your time and effort.
When proper form is maintained during the entire training session, the body will stabilize your joints and you will begin to strengthen ligaments and tendons. If, however, resistance training is done technically incorrect, the joints and skeletal muscular system can be damaged and long-term success will be impaired indefinitely. Our goal is to improve the stability of your body with knowledge and proper training technique. As in all training programs, a healthy, balanced diet is also essential to your overall long-term success!
Improvement comes with time and practice. It takes repetition of clean technique to develop muscle-memory. Over a period of time your skill level should improve and at this point you will want to slowly implement more challenging exercises. Personal training or coaching may also become a valuable asset at this point, or in the very beginning, to help you create a customized program to meet your specific needs, strengths and weaknesses. Try out our down-loadable training series for beginning to advanced levels. These “shorts” will instruct you in proper technique; enabling you to incorporate more exercises into your current regiment and add more advanced moves into your program, as you progress.
